Embarrassed to say my son introduced me to these

Been using drill for work going on 20 years, I know what setting I like for doing decking versus screwing in cabinet hinges, but I never thought about it too deeply. Thank you for the very detailed explanation of all of its functions. Dewalt seems to keep me happy from their corded miter saws down to the 20 volt drills

Yeah, I phoned Dewalt to discuss the issue I was facing (as below, the fancy e-clutch thingy was just not clutching out and was destroying my screws). I ultimately wasn't sure if using it with normal household size screws (think door hinges and such) was not something the tool was designed to do, or if it was just outright defective. Unfortunately I was left listening to music for 10 minutes and then someone just dropped the call without talking to me, so I ended up simply returning the item and bought a different one. The whole situation is just not acceptable for a premium-priced tool. If you can't make the e-clutch work for a low torque setting, you could have added what is a relatively inexpensive mechanical clutch instead, and left the e-clutch just for drill mode as a safety mechanism.

I bought a 996 hoping it could work well as a driver, but the clutch is too strong for normal household applications and always destroys the screw. It also doesn't stop the tool at all if I use it at speed 1. I was forced to buy a separate screwdriver tool which was pretty disappointing

With my DCD991 drill/driver if using the 1st speed for lowest RPM's there is no way to adjust the clutch collar to prevent damage to a screw as the drill works as though in Drill Mode 100% of the time. It is why I needed to buy a separate Bosch driver for use with fasteners. No such issues with the older 18v models from DeWalt but something that was introduced with their 20v models.

Can someone give a correlation of the torque settings to ft lbs or nm? So what does a 1 equal? or 11 equal? This will depend on speed in 1 or 2 or 3? This is regarding a DCD995 20vmax XR

I have a dewalt 12” compound flexvolt saw that dose a great job cutting wood but after spending $130 on a metal cutting blade i find it is just to fast to cut metal, it just burns the blade up can the saw be slowed down to around 1800 rpm if so please tell me how

I just purchased a DCD709C2. My first cordless. Great tool. Now if I could only learn to use it properly. You talk about high speed applications and low speed ones; but you don't show any examples. Grrrr! I know that drilling through wood, for example, in most cases, you want high speed and no torgue. However, it's the opposite when going through metal, where I always use slower speed and high torque. According to your vid, all you do, is just set it to drill. You will break a lot of bits that way. So confusing. Maybe next vid, you could actually demonstrate the different applications and settings.

I have a question on the dewalt cordless drills. The battery and charger unit in the USA market are they 110 volts only or are they 110 v to 230v for international use as well. I live overseas and need to be carefull buying here cause of fakes. Thanks

So if I wanted to maximize the torque to its fullest potential I would put the motor to one in the clutch to drill?

My drill torque collar won’t set to hammer setting also here in the UK they don’t supply a side handle more cost cutting I suppose
